JOB
Summary:
Perform general maintenance services and other skills as required, to include, but not limited to,
repairs and light maintenance to building, facilities, and service equipment, and general maintenance
such as grounds keeping and general labor.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONISIBILITIES:
1. Must be able to work in a team-oriented, safety conscience environment. Safety
expectations include, but are not limited to, compliance with all company and customer
safety policies, guidelines, and procedures. Participation in safety programs such as LOTO,
ReA, PJHA and the Observation process is required.
2. Typically obtains work assignments from supervisor, contacts person requesting repairs and
determines type of repairs required. Must be able to effectively work alone or in groups with
others.
3. Performs PM''s and minor repairs to building and facilities equipment, performs minor
plumbing repairs, cleans electrical fixtures and replaces lamps, and performs industrial
painting processes.
4. Performs grounds keeping and general labor; includes, but not limited to, mowing, trimming,
lawn and grounds watering, and minor earthwork such as digging and excavating.
5. Read and interpret technical sketches.
6. Maintains records for inventory of repair supplies and materials; prepares materials
requisitions for approval of supervisor as replacement needs dictate.
7. Installs various items such as pictures. white boards, fixtures, etc.
8. Operates simple and complex industrial equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, basket
trucks, backhoes, bobcats, etc.
9. Must work from elevated areas such as ladders, platforms, scaffolding,etc.,utilizing fall
protection equipment as necessary to complete tasks.
10. Assists other Trades as directed by Supervisor.
11. Must have flexibility to work overtime and all assigned shifts, including weekends and
holidays, and serve on an on-call basis, as may be dictated by the needs of the business.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Perform all assigned tasks in a safe, effective, and efficient manner.
2. Substitute for Facilities Mechanic in case of emergency or absence.
3. Utilize hand and power tools on a daily basis; includes, but not limited to, hand wrenches,
pliers, hammers, hand grinders, saws. impact wrenches, hydraulic pullers, and measuring
tools.
4. Assist other vendors as directed; perform snow removal and related activities; repair ceiling
and flooring systems and wall coverings.
5. Maintain assigned tools and equipment in clean, proper working condition; notify Supervisor
in the event an assigned tool is found to be or becomes defective.
6. Ensure compliance with all company and customer policies, regulations, and procedures
7. Effectively communicate in a positive, proactive manner with all team members, customer
employees, and vendors; demonstrate a team and teamwork values.
8. Participate in the continuous improvement process.
9. Meet all physical requirements for this job (physical requirements are listed separately and
provided prior to employment).
JOB
Qualifications:
1. Education: High School Diploma or approved GED
2.
Experience: Demonstrated mechanical aptitude acquired through previous job experience or
vocational schooling. Includes a working knowledge of 2 or more of the following skills: use
of hand and power tools, minor plumbing/pipefitting, minor electrical work, grounds keeping,
and industrial equipment operation.
3. Valid state motor vehicle driver''s license.
